Every so often, some of the families in our neighborhood gather in our cul-de-sac in the evenings - the adults chat over a glass of wine and the kids play and ride around on their bikes, scooters, etc. Tate is one of the youngest and has been fascinated by the older kids' bicycles.
After hearing him talk about "bikeys" for a few weeks now, Keith and I bought him his first tricycle on Sunday afternoon. His feet don't quite reach the pedals yet, but he can push off with his feet or we can push him from behind with the adult handle thingy. (although he often turns around when we are pushing and says "no, no, no, ME!")
He loves his helmet, which is a relief since he refuses to wear hats. Even after he's done with his "bikey", he wants to keep his helmet on around the house. Last night he wore it to dinner.
Our sweet, independent Tate is growing up too fast!
